About:

During this presentation, we will look at the current state of legal issues for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the nation and particularly in Florida. There will be a discussion regarding typical incidents that lead to EMS lawsuits and strategies on how to avoid these will be reviewed. Several specific current trends will be covered that includes new technologies and recent movements within the legal system directly related to EMS agencies and EMS personnel. Finally, involvement in the legislative process will be stressed in an effort to highlight that EMS personnel can provide input into their profession and how their careers will be impacted.
