About Essential Legal Matters in Emergency Medicine: A Guide for Medics

When lives are at risk, paramedics must make treatment decisions about patient care in seconds or less. Doing “what’s best for the patient” sounds simple, but every medic knows the context of a situation can influence what’s best for all parties involved.

This new series aims to educate pre-hospital providers on the various medicolegal aspects relevant to the field of EMS. Over a 12-month period, experts in the fields of EMS, emergency medicine and/or EMS law will review topics such as common lawsuits and documentation mistakes, EMTALA issues, transport dilemmas, patient refusals and more. Each webinar will be available for free for 30 days after its live presentation date.
