About:

The use of anabolic steroids gained widespread popularity in the 1980’s with increasing use in non-competitive athletes. This presentation will highlight the growing use of these potentially dangerous substances in adolescents and young people with a focus on the signs and symptoms that all emergency providers should recognize in these patients. Emergency providers should understand the wide breadth of complications and how to best approach these patients given the often-psychological nature of the use of these drugs.
