A message from the EMLRC Headquarters

The Bill Shearer CLINCON International ALS/BLS Competition is the longest running and most prestigious Advanced Life Support (ALS) competition to date. For the last 40+ years, we have set the standard for excellence in EMS competitions and significantly influenced subsequent state and national EMS competitions. Many have used our competition framework as a foundation to enhance the competition circuit in Florida – building upon the CLINCON legacy and years of tradition.

We take great pride in the significant evolution of our competition since its inception. During our competition, teams face complex medical emergencies, trauma cases, and mass casualty incidents, working with advanced equipment, including simulation manikins, monitors, and communication devices. Exceeding the expectations of competing teams is our priority and a key element of the continued success and longevity of our competition.

Organizing a long-standing competition has come with its share of challenges – many which are amplified by market saturation and the number of competitions in existence. In consideration of many factors and variables, we have decided to postpone the 2024 Bill Shearer CLINCON International ALS/BLS competition. If we are unable to give the very best, highest quality, competition experience we will not compromise our well-earned reputation. Rather we will pause, regroup, and diligently work to remodel Florida’s original ALS/BLS Competition. This strategic move will boost the competition’s impact and ensure ongoing sustainability.

We will see you all in 2025 for more high-stakes scenarios, innovative techniques, teamwork triumphs, unexpected twists, and heartwarming saves.
