Human Trafficking & Emergency Medicine
Available at EMLRC Online | 2.0 CME | 2-hr webinar | $20
About:
While 30% of human trafficking victims will encounter an emergency medicine professional during their time of enslavement, none of them will be freed as a result of their encounter. Emergency medicine professionals play a key role in recognizing the signs of a patient being victimized by human trafficking and are afforded a unique window of opportunity to offer help. This comprehensive educational program will focus on pre-hospital and hospital encounters in an effort to elevate the knowledge base of EM professionals, allowing for proper identification and subsequent intervention. Providing EM professionals with the tools to understand the wide-ranging problem of trafficking, including when and how to act, can lead to the freedom of many of those currently enslaved. Our program:- meets the requirement set forth by Florida s.787.06(2) and Florida HB 851
- is approved for two (2) hours of nursing contact hours specific to human trafficking by the Florida Board of Nursing
- is approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and continuing education hours
