Melissa Keahey Named as FCEP/FEMF Interim Executive Director

Orlando, Fla – The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) and the Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation (FEMF), two nonprofit organizations located at the Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center (EMLRC), are proud to announce Melissa Keahey as Interim Executive Director.
Ms. Keahey has been serving FCEP, FEMF and the emergency medicine community for over seven years since she started as program coordinator. She has been involved in planning every meeting, program and event hosted at or sponsored by the EMLRC since April 2014. In her most recent position as Director of Development & Operations, she developed the annual sponsorship program, cultivated sustainable partnerships, created new revenue streams, and managed the Florida Association of EMS Medical Directors (FAEMSMD) in addition to planning meetings and events.
Prior to working at the EMLRC, Ms. Keahey served the Florida Department of Health as the EMS for Children Program Manager, the Florida Dental Association as program coordinator and exhibits manager, the Tallahassee Builders Association as membership manager, and the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Services as program assistant. Collectively, she has over 10 years of experience in the Florida nonprofit healthcare sector and 20 years of experience in program development for nonprofits and associations.
FCEP, a state chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, is a membership association representing the best interests of Florida’s emergency physicians and the 9 million patients they serve in emergency departments and beyond every year. Its foundation, FEMF, serves the entire community of emergency care providers through continuing education and events. Together, FCEP and FEMF support the health and safety of the public by providing the emergency medicine community with the necessary tools to deliver high quality patient care 24/7/365.
